DOWN THE TRACK
Down the Track is focused on disengaged, marginalised and at-risk young people between the ages of 10 and 20 in the communities of Lake Cargelligo and Murrin Bridge. Programs range from upskilling, education, and mentoring. They provide work experience and training in hospitality and agriculture. Focus is on sustainable jobs, problem solving, and mental wellbeing. In 2024, The Blackwood Foundation donated untied funding as part of a collaborative funding group.
In 2025, The Blackwood Foundation continued its co-funding of Down The Track, by supporting the restoration of the Old Royal Mail Hotel. The Hotel was donated to the organisation to not only enable young people to train to restore a property, but also to become the centre of their organisation. In the future it will be a training and employment centre, health centre, a place for mentoring, and a social enterprise café. It will also serve as a community hub.
